The Charity Defense Council fights for the people who fight for the people. It is the first organization specifically created to change the way the public thinks about charity and change and to organize the nonprofit sector to affect that change. It will perform four basic functions of movement-building currently missing from the sector’s toolbox: anti-defamation work, legal defense work and funding, paid media and advertising to the general public and basic grassroots organizing of the sector’s 10 million employees.
Our first Executive Director will help make the Council known in the community, known in the media, and will help it raise the money it needs for its bread-and-butter operations and its greatest dreams. It’s an historic opportunity to put a powerful new movement on the map.
