Bethlehem Central Scholarships

The deadline to apply for these scholarship opportunities has passed. Links for 2019 scholarships will be posted in January 2019.

You will be notified if you were selected to receive a scholarship at the Senior Awards Ceremony in May. There will be a reception immediately following the ceremony at the school for scholarship recipients to meet the scholarship donor. If you are selected for a scholarship please plan to attend the brief meet-and-greet.Choose which of the scholarships you want to apply for and click the link to complete the scholarship application.

Jonathan A. Albert Memorial Scholarship $500
  • Resident of the Town of Bethlehem who has attended BCHS for grades 9-12 (all four years)
  • Exemplify a strong commitment to a particular goal or aspiration, have overcome obstacles, and/or demonstrated hard work and tenacity

Bethlehem Senior Projects, Inc. $500
  • Student must be a graduating senior from Bethlehem Central High School.
  • Student must plan to attend a two or four-year college or university, or a professional certificate program in a medical services-related field.
  • Student must be pursuing a career an area of human services, social work or medical services with plans to assist the elderly.
  • Student must demonstrate strong character and commitment to serving others as evidenced by the student resume, an essay, and two letters of recommendation.

Frances A. Cocozza Memorial Scholarship $2,000
  • Participation in dance or musical theater, in or out of the high school setting
  • Plans to continue involvement with dance or musical theater after high school

Russell Ellers
Memorial Scholarship
$1,000
  • Minimum of B average during senior year, or demonstrated effort to do so
  • Demonstrable athletic ability, sense of humor, willingness to help others
  • Faced personal, family or economic hardship

Jeremy Klugman Memorial Scholarship $2,000
  • Plans to pursue a career in teaching

Dorothy McDonald Memorial Scholarship $1,000
  • Plans to pursue a career in education or human services

Ken Neff Eagle Award $2,000
  • Be a graduating senior from Bethlehem Central High School
  • Upon high school graduation, student will have completed a total of four credits from the following courses: Earth Science, Chemistry (Regents or AP), Physics (Regents or AP), or any Technology course
  • Have participated in a Junior Varsity or Varsity sport for at least one full season
  • Be enrolled/attending a 2 or 4 year college or university

Norek Family Spanish & Study Abroad Scholarship $1,000
  • Completed at least 3 years of study in Spanish
  • Successfully passed the NYS Regents exams in Spanish
  • Plans to pursue a college degree that will include continued study of Spanish

Gay C. Petri Memorial Scholarship $500
  • Completed at least 3 credits of study in French, including AP French and/or Advanced French
  • Plans to pursue a college degree that will include a continued study of French

Will Raub September 11 Scholarship $500
  • Achievement of honor roll status in at least four quarters
  • Plans to pursue a degree in economics, finance, business management or business administration

Dr. Josephine A. Vitillo Memorial Scholarship $1,000
  • Plans to pursue a degree in pharmacy or music
  • Demonstrated excellence in academics and community service
  • Students pursuing a degree in pharmacy must have taken at least four years of science classes (Regents level or higher)
  • Students pursuing a degree in music must demonstrate strong record of studying music within high school and/or outside study
