The Women’s Fund of the Capital Region is a component fund of the Community Foundation for the Greater Capital Region.
The Women’s Fund believes that by investing and working together, we will collectively make a difference in the lives of women in our region. Women often face discrimination, domestic violence, difficulty finding high quality child care, and inadequate employment training. The Women’s Fund reduces barriers to education for women through scholarships, mentoring programs and limited emergency aid grants. We believe our collective energy, talent, volunteer and financial resources can change the destiny of women and girls in our community. Working together, we can replace barriers to independence with opportunities for a better life.
To promote the independence, growth and self-determination of women and girls.
Collectively raise resources to support programs and provide scholarships that will measurably change the conditions of women in our community.
Since 2007, the Women’s Fund awarded more than $400,000 in grants and scholarships to help remove obstacles that stand in the way of success for women and girls.
In partnership with Hudson Valley Community College and Schenectady County Community College, the Women’s Fund provides more than $40,000 in scholarships and emergency financial assistance each year.
