THE TINA A. DAILEY MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP FUND
The Tina A. Dailey Memorial Scholarship Fund was established in memory of Tina Dailey in 2003. As a first and second grade teacher, Tina brought a powerful enthusiasm to her classroom and demonstrated an unwaivering commitment to her students and their well-being. Tina's family and friends chose to establish the scholarship fund as a way of carrying on a small portion of Tina's unfinished work.
Each year, the Fund awards a scholarship in Tina's memory to a graduate of Shenendehowa High School who is pursuing a degree in elementary education. "When reviewing the applicants each year, we are reminded of all of Tina's accomplishments," says Tina's sister Lori Sievers. "The Community Foundation provides us with a formal vehicle to deliver this very personal undertaking. Each year we find a truly impressive student who promises to be the kind of teacher students love - the kind of teacher Tina was. The scholarship allows us to step away from our loss and honor Tina's memory."
