The Community Foundation offers a range of charitable funds, allowing you to choose the vehicle best suited to you and your philanthropic goals. Below are descriptions of the types of funds available; more details on each type of fund can be found by clicking the links at right.
With all of our funds, we handle the due diligence, issue the checks, and provide as much - or as little - staff assistance as you need.
Because the Community Foundation is an independent public charity, all contributions are eligible for an immediate tax deduction and many contributions may qualify for a larger tax deduction than those to other charitable entities like private foundations.

Community Impact Funds Through the Community Impact Funds, the Foundation keeps pace with the community's most pressing needs. The Community Foundation's Board and Staff makes grants from these funds to organizations and programs that best meet donors' areas of interest. Donors can rely on the Community Foundation to identify organizations capable of making the greatest impact in the specific issue area or region of particular importance to them.
Donor Advised Funds By creating a donor advised fund, donors can organize all their charitable activities through one expertly-managed and cost-effective charitable vehicle. These funds allow donors to recommend grants to support specific charitable organizations. Fund advisors make grant recommendations; the Community Foundation then vets the nonprofits, writes the checks, and handles reporting.
While many donors prefer to give directly to their favorite charities, a designated fund may be a preferable option for ongoing support. Donors select the specific nonprofits to receive grants and the Foundation invests the charitable assets and regularly pays grants to the charities donors have named.
