The Grantmakers Alliance is a regional association of grantmakers that is committed to increasing effective philanthropy throughout northeastern New York. To that end, the Grantmakers Alliance:
- Organizes and hosts programs that are responsive to members’ needs
- Provides networking opportunities for people involved in grantmaking
- Compiles and disseminates accurate, timely information about local funders
- Collaborates with regional associations of grantmakers in New York and New England to provide professional development programs, broad-perspective community issues programs, and a legislative voice in both Albany and Washington.

Membership
Membership is open to private, community, public, and corporate foundations and corporate giving programs that annually make grants to multiple organizations serving northeastern New York. Not-for-profit organizations and individuals that operate grantmaking programs in accordance with the practices of organized philanthropy are also eligible. No organization or individual will use membership in the Grantmakers Alliance to solicit donations. Benefits include:
- The opportunity to network with other funders
- Professional development programs
- Information on priority needs in northeastern New York
- Information about best practices in philanthropy
- Quarterly newsletter
- The opportunity to collaborate with other funders on important projects
- Assistance in designing giving programs

Contact the Grantmakers Alliance Director at info@cfcr.org for a membership application. Dues range from $150 to $3,000 per year and are based on the member’s charitable giving in northeastern New York in the previous year. New members are offered an introductory rate of $300 for 2005. |
